1. Start by tapping the wisdom of your grantees
It's often useful to begin any analysis into racial inequities by tapping the experience of your current and potential grantees. These groups have been immersed in these issues for years and can provide a great deal of insight into a complicated subject such as racial inequality and its effects on LGBTQ people of color. Ultimately, what grantmakers benefit from are detailed pictures with sufficient context—and grantees are aptly positioned to draw them.
